How to get your visa

 

Dear Participants of the World’s Large Rivers Conference! For travelling to Moscow you will need a visa issued by the Russian Embassy or Russian General Consulate in your country. We will assist you in any possible way to facilitate your visa application and therefore kindly ask you to follow the subsequent procedures and dates:

 

 


Visa-Application for participants from Schengen-Countries*,
China and Japan:

 

Please, send us a scan of your passport and the filled-in application form not later than 1st of June 2020. The International Office of Moscow State University will then prepare a personalized invitation letter which you will need for the visa application at the Russian Embassy or Russian General Consulate in your country. The issuing of the invitation letter will take approx. 1-2 weeks and does not include any fees.

 

*Schengen-Countries are: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

 

 

Necessary documents:

 

Scan of passport: in good quality and the passport must be valid at least 6 months after your anticipated visit in Russia.

 

Filled-in application form: please, indicate the city where the visa will be issued (this city must have a Russian Embassy or General Consulate – please check it in advance). The application form can be downloaded here [application form].

 

 


Visa-Application for participants from Non-Schengen-Countries
(like USA, Canada, UK…):


Please, send us a scan of your passport, the filled in application form and an email with the scanned and signed guarantee not later than 1st of June 2020. The Russian Migration Service will then prepare a personalized invitation letter which you will need for the visa application at the Russian Embassy or Russian General Consulate in your country. The issuing of the invitation letter will take up to 4 weeks and requires the payment of a fee of 800 Rubles (approx. 12 Euros) which has to be paid in cash at the conference registration in the beginning of the conference (you will get the receipt of payment directly there).

General note 1: We accept applications for invitation letters only from participants who have already paid the conference fee (or who have a guarantee for participation).

 

 

General note 2: There are special visa regulations for participants living in Schengen-countries but not having a passport of a Schengen-country as well as for accompanying persons (including children).
